Sealoflex®
Ever increasing traffic intensities, higher axle loads and tyre pressures and unfavourable wheel configurations result in increasing deterioration of asphalt pavements. Pavement performance can be improved by enhancing the properties of asphalt mixes. The best improvements are obtained by incorporating specific polymers to the bituminous binder.

Sealoflex® comprises a group of polymer modified binders for use in heavy duty asphalt pavements. Since its introduction in the early eighties Sealoflex® has proved its value in practice in terms of performance, durability and cost effectiveness. Nowadays Sealoflex® is manufactured and used worldwide.

Properties
Asphalt mixes based on Sealoflex® binders are characterised by:
- low temperature susceptibility
- high elastic recovery
- high resistance to fatigue
- high flexibility
- high stability.

The specific properties of Sealoflex® asphalt provide excellent resistance to fatigue, reflective cracking and permanent deformation, which results in extended durability of the pavement.

Resistance to jet fuel
Sealoflex® SFB5-JR is resistant to jet fuel. This makes it highly suitable for pavements in areas with risk of oil spillage, such as bus lanes, storage tank areas and petrol pump stations, traffic light zones and airport pavements.

Application
The properties of Sealoflex® make its application highly suitable for the construction and maintenance of roads with high traffic volumes and heavy duty pavements such as traffic light zones, truck lanes and runways and taxiways.
Sealoflex® is also suitable as a binder in bitumen rich mixes such
as porous asphalt and stone mastic asphalt, without the need of any anti drain down agents.

Production
Asphalt with Sealoflex® binders can be produced in any hot mix plant. Sealoflex® can be used in all pavement layers. The composition of the mix can comply with statutory regulations.

Paving application
No special equipment is required for the application of asphalt based on Sealoflex® binders.
