The Light at the End of the Tunnel!

The €52 million investment co-financed by the European Union involving the construction of 16 miles worth of underground tunnels aimed at solving the flooding problem that various localities suffer on a yearly basis has finally made a visible connection from Mriehel to Ta’ Xbiex. Works were carried out from various sites and after a number of intensive months using specially designed machinery to tunnel through tons of rocks, these tunnels were connected.
